Mosquito Control

Mosquito Control

When you contract Lawns-4-U for mosquito control, a trained technician will treat your yard with an effective barrier spray that eliminates biters for 21 days. Using a backpack sprayer designed for precise application, your technician targets shrubs and plants with a barrier spray that kills mosquitoes on contact and bonds to foliage, where it acts as a mosquito repellent for weeks to come. Within 30 minutes of spraying, your yard is ready for family and pets to go out and play.

We also inspect your property for active larvae populations and treat them accordingly. Your technician will help you identify potential mosquito breeding grounds in your yard and recommend ways to eliminate standing water. These notes will be left on the post-service door hanger at the end of the treatment. Every three weeks, our team will return to treat your yard.

Protect Your Family from Mosquito-Borne Illnesses West Nile Virus (WNV)

Mosquitoes aren’t just irritating. They also carry harmful diseases. The leading cause of mosquito-borne disease in the U.S. and most commonly spread through a mosquito bite is the WNV. Currently, there are no vaccines to prevent and no medications for treatment. While most cases of WNV are mild and go unreported, symptoms can include fever, headache, body aches, skin rash, and swollen lymph nodes. Severe symptoms can include a stiff neck, sleepiness, disorientation, coma, tremors, convulsions, and paralysis.

Zika Virus

Zika is spread through the bite of an infected Aedes species mosquito and became widely known in the news a few years ago due to its ability to pass from a pregnant woman to a fetus and cause unwanted complications and congenital disabilities. While most people infected with the Zika virus do not feel sick, about one in five people develops a fever and other flu-like symptoms.

Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE)

A third virus transmitted through the bite of a mosquito is the EEE virus. While only a few cases are reported in the United States each year, it can cause inflammation of the brain. Approximately 30 percent of people with EEE die, and many survivors have ongoing neurologic problems.
